Hi, I'm Brian Donelan.
I'm a Vanderbilt University Mechanical Engineer turned Full Stack Software & Cloud Engineer, currently working at JPMorgan Chase & Co. to help build the core-banking platform of the future on the Platform Infrastructure team.
In my free time time, you can catch me playing piano, reading non-fiction, spending time with family and friends, or exploring beautiful Columbus, Ohio.
About me
When I was three years old I asked for an extension cord for my birthday because I wanted to figure out how the vacuum cleaner worked but was afraid of the loud noise it made. From the start my parents knew I was a highly curious child as I sat plugging and unlugging that extension cord in a loop, watching the vacuum belt spin from a safe distance. That same insatiable curiosity still powers me today as I work on technology or entrepreneurial projects, ranging from app-building to real estate investing.

I was blessed with phenomenal teachers in my High School experience, and was proud to achieve 99th percentile in standardized testing, alongside a National Merit Scholar credential.
Work
Cloud Platform Engineer
I work as a Cloud Platform Engineer on JPMorgan Chase & Co's Global Banking Platform. I utilize Amazon Web Services technologies such as Managed Streaming Kafka, Elastic Kubernetes Service, Simple Storage Service, DynamoDB, Aurora Postgres, Simple Queue Service and more to build a next-generation banking ledger. I provision, improve and support these infrastructure, and conceive of and implement webapp Proof of Concepts to advance developer productivity in the bank.
Computer Vision Engineer
I worked on GridzlyBear, an AEP Innovation Lab project designed to use cameras mounted on utility company trucks to geospatially map utility poles utilizing end-to-end automated cutting-edge computer vision technology.
Team Lead - Full Stack Software Development
I recruited, hired and supervised a team of 5 software engineers responsible for delivery of a next-generation fully-automated Financial Advisor onboarding platform utilizing Cloud AWS technology.
